PDM in action: BoM health and validation

A specialist team of expert BoM analysts completing final validation on the production Bill of Material prior to final launch readiness:

  • Created rapid release process to expedite BoM fixes and finance calculations, drastically reducing change throughput time whilst ensuring change data quality.
  • Owned authoring and approval of BoM fixes, ensuring engineers could focus on launch and spend more time on engineering activities.
  • Developed a unique toolset and specialist feature complexity knowledge to drive consistent and accurate information across multiple programs.
  • Checked service attribute elements in parallel to ensure a correct SBoM ahead of launch. Rectifying elements often incorrectly applied by product development engineering was key to maximising on-the-road time for Ford customers.
